Our goal is to Inform, Educate and Inspire anyone interested in doing business in Somaliland.
Be the number one online resource for anything Business related in Somaliland. Become a trusted source of information for Somaliland business people, entrepreneurs and foreign investors.
The idea behind SomalilandBiz was first conceived by our Founder Abdirahman; being a Digital Marketing professional for over a decade he’s used to online research and like everyone else became accustomed to finding everything online. When looking for business opportunities in Somaliland he was therefore stuck and surprised by the dire lack of decent information online. Most Somali websites are focussed on general news/politics and at best have a ‘business’ section with poor articles never mind the poor design/user experience. Furthermore, upon visiting the country in the summer of 2017 he witnessed first hand the thriving business community that struck a chord. The diaspora are the driving engine of private business growth in Somaliland and nearly everyone you speak to ‘wants to start a business back home’.
So we had:
The term “where there’s a problem there’s an opportunity” was very relevant and SomalilandBiz was born.
Abdirahman brought on co-founders Bashir and Abdinasir, both of whom have relevant experience and business acumen but most importantly share the same values. We have plans to grow the team and openly invite our readers to engage with us and help shape the future of the site.
